About Dr. Mahoney
Dr. Timothy G. Mahoney received his B Sc degree from the University of Alberta in Edmonton and then attended its School of Dentistry, graduating in 1983. He opened his private practice in Wetaskiwin in 1983. Since that time he has worked consistently to stay current in the dental field and to enhance his skills. He has taken countless hours of continuing education programs in both aesthetic and general dentistry.
Dr. Mahoney has earned his accreditation from the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). The AACD is the largest cosmetic dentistry association in the world with over 7,500 active members, but only 250 dentists in the world are accredited.
Dr. Mahoney earned this distinction by taking continuing education courses and passing a rigorous examination process that includes written and oral exams, a clinical exam, and a critique of his clinical casework by a panel of peers. Dr. Mahoney is one of only three AACD accredited dentists in the province of Alberta and one of only 16 in Canada.
Dr. Mahoney also stays informed of advances in dentistry through his membership in organizations such as the Alberta Dental Association, Edmonton and district dental association, Calgary and district dental association, and Central Alberta dental association. He is a past president of the Western Canadian Chapter of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and of various dental study clubs in the area.
Sylvia - Office Manager / Receptionist
I’m Sylvia and it has been my privilege to work with Dr. Mahoney since 1986. I came to the office with no dental experience and was amazed at the diversity of this field. I have never stopped learning in the more than 2 decades that I have been here. It is such a pleasure to spend my days with a team that is dedicated to providing the very best dental care possible and having fun at the same time. Watching Dr. Mahoney change lives with beautiful cosmetic dentistry is exciting. The confidence I have in his talent and artistry comes from participation with him in countless hours of continuing education over the years and seeing his unwavering dedication to excellence.
When I’m not at the office, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my friends and family, especially my two beautiful nieces.

Marlene - Hygienist
Hello, my name is Marlene and I have had the pleasure of being a part of Dr. Mahoney’s team since 1985. I am a graduate of the University of Alberta Dental Hygiene program, class of 1980. I commute from Edmonton where I live with my husband, Bart and our children, Brandon and Jennine, and of course, our Jack Russell Terrier, Scorch. Over the more than 20 years of practice I have had the opportunity to meet and become friends with many of our patients. The journey to Wetaskiwin may sometimes seem long, but the rewards are great.
